INJURY PREVENTION – PILATES
Belpark holds injury prevention pilates classes on Monday nights in the Rathfarnham Athletics Clubhouse. These classes are run by a physiotherapist and work on flexibility, lumbar spine and lower limb muscle strength work (including gluts activation, abdominal work etc), balance and co-ordination. These are quite similar to a Pilates class in nature but more tailored towards triathlon.
These classes are small (max 12 people) to allow for proper focus on technique & individual attention from the instructor. To allow for this individualised approach the instructor wishes to keep groups consistent throughout the year and each class is generally a progression on the previous one. There has been great feedback from those who attended previous classes. There are currently two classes being run which are block booked in advance. Please note that due to the popular nature of these classes places sell out quickly. Keep an eye on the discussion forum for future class availability.
