Belpark weekly coached running session takes place each Thursday at 7pm – at UCD or Deerpark, depending on the time of year, normally Deerpark during summer months and UCD the rest of the year. They are taken by our running coach, Emmet Dunleavey. Emmet has over 20 years’ experience in running, and has represented Ireland numerous time during his career. He now coaches top Irish athletes including Belpark! Emmet shares a weekly newsletter from his blog perfectpacing.com with great tips on training and nutrition.

If you are a first timer to these sessions they will probably seem a bit daunting and a little difficult at the beginning! But if you stick with them you’ll soon get the gist of the session and it’ll do wonders for your speed.

Additionally, Belpark have teamed up with Rathfarnham WSAF to give members a wide range of well organised coached running sessions with a veryexperienced club. Belpark and Rathfarnham WSAF have a long standing relationship that has worked well over the years which we will maintain again for 2019.

All Belpark Members who choose to run with Rathfarnham must join Rathfarnham Club. This is offered at a 50% discount to Belpark members (€50, normally €100) and is available to purchase through the Members Zone.

Upon joining Rathfarnham, members will be sent a weekly spreadsheet laying out each of the sessions. The spreadsheet is split into tabs based on ability and also includes a Belpark Specific tab. The group meets in Loretto Park at 6:30 for approximately 1hr. Please note that training starts at 6:30 sharp so make sure you’re warmed up prior to this. The meeting point is next to the bridge at the changing rooms by the river….there’ll be a lot of lycra, you won’t miss them! See the map below.

Ask for Adam (Rathfarnham coach) tell him you’re in Belpark, tell him your level of experience (don’t worry if that is zero) and he’ll have you up and running in no time.

The table below outlines a typical training Week covered by Rathfarnham. Belpark members are welcome at all sessions once they have purchased the discounted Rathfarnham membership through the Members Zone on the Belpark website.
